Speech & Language
Anderson-Smith Therapy Institute provides language and articulation therapy in the natural environment of the client.
We practice evidenced based techniques utilizing the TalkTools Oral-Placement Therapy® techniques, which will engage your child in therapy as well as promote carryover and generalization of speech skills.
Feeding & Swallowing, Bottling and Breastfeeding
Our team has received training and taken certified workshops to service children who are problem eaters, demonstrate sensory-motor oral deficits, and have oral sensory aversions.
For your child to increase feeding safety and acceptance of the breast or bottle we offer evaluations and provide program plans specifically designed for you.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps children improve function in fine and gross motor skills, handwriting, self-care, spatial awareness, and sensory processing difficulties.
During therapy sessions, the child is engaged in purposeful play while being directed through challenging therapeutic tasks. The goal is that over time the brain will adapt and the child will be able to process sensations and react to them more efficiently.
Literacy & Dyslexia Services
Does your child struggle with spelling, reading comprehension, or has a diagnosis of dyslexia? We offer a variety of literacy services and utilize several different approaches including Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, and the Barton Method.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a muscle-based therapy approach for children, teens, and adults. We work closely with dentists, orthodontists, and medical doctors to create an individualized plan for you.
Consultative Services
Oral Placement Therapy consultations for speech and feeding deficits are offered for parents, caregivers, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Services range from Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) technique training to a full OPT program plan that includes detailed sensory, feeding, and speech exercises specifically for your child.
